Prospective Residents

There are around 128 residents in the internal medicine residency program hailing from all over the globe. We are one big family learning and growing with each other each day. The GME page has an abundance of information about the program including messages from the Chair and program director, program highlights, curriculum, educational tracts, fellowship information, current and prior residents, and the application process.  Click here for the official GME page

Where the learning happens: Residents rotate through three main sites for inpatient medicine: UConn Health John Dempsey Hospital, Hartford Hospital and Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Categorical medicine residents have a continuity clinic over their three years in the program at one of those same three sites or the Veteran’s Affair Hospital (VA) in Newington, Connecticut. Electives are both inpatient and outpatient and can be at any of the sites. PGY-2 & 3 residents have the opportunity to partake in a secondary clinic in a specialty field of interest one half-day a week during elective time.
